| How Much: |
$32 for the 4-week series of either class ($24 for students with ID) $48 for the 4-week series of two classes ($36 for students with ID) In other words, if you are in Intermediate you can take Beginning again for half price. We love it when our students come back and get their basics Down. |
| What: |
Beginning Lindy Hop will cover the basics of 8-count
Lindy; no partner or previous dance experience is
required.
Steps in the Beginning class include the under-arm turn, swingout,
circle, charleston, and some simple variations on these.
Students often take the Beginning class a second or
third
time, even in addition to the Intermediate class, to gain
confidence in their basics and improve their technique.
Intermediate Lindy Hop is for those who have taken at
least
one month of Beginning Lindy Hop and are comfortable with the
basics. Students tend to repeat this class many times, as the
curriculum varies from month to month; we have a couple years'
worth of
different lesson plans. 9pm has traditionally been for Advanced Lindy, a time to
work on the finer points of technique. But we have found lately
that students are shy about joining because they don't think they are
all that advanced. So we have relabeled it Practice Time, so that
everyone can stay after and practice what they learned, and those that
feel ready to ask questions or work on specific techniques can get the
help they need, without feeling like they have to audition. |
