Persephone can be your Master of Ceremonies, your disc jockey, your decorator and hostess. Charles can be your audio engineer and gaffer. Either or both of them can teach dance, pack your truck, and mend your party dress when it gets stepped on. You will be glad you added these competent individuals to your event.
We understand that no two weddings are the same, and are prepared to customize from the ground up. We usually meet with the couple several times to plan everything in advance, helping you make decisions and get your schedule in order so that your worries are over before the big day comes. We will not be the kind of DJ that plays the same ten songs you hear at every wedding; we're here to find out your favorite music and give it to you. Looking back over our many weddings, each play list is different. If you have musicians for the ceremony we can mic them-- and/or mic you, if the acoustics in the hall might prevent some of your guests from hearing your vows. And of course we can teach your guests to dance. A lesson at the beginning of the reception nicely fills in the time while the bride and groom are being photographed.

Nightclubs
Unlike weddings, people go out to night spots to hear new music. So when DJing in bars and restaurants, we like to keep it varied, and have a few surprises. Not one of those DJs who gets into a "groove" and stays there for hours, with standard hits mixed over the same 120bpm background. Instead we go for the more congenial feel of your iPod on shuffle: unafraid of being eclectic. The important difference between shuffle and a good DJ, of course, is that the songs will fit the mood of the venue, the theme of your event, and most importantly, the response of the crowd. Some genres of nightlife we've done in recent years include: Speakeasy, New Wave, Lounge, Alternative, Gothic, Retro, International, Dinner Jazz, 80s/90s, and Ballroom.
