8:00 - 9:00 = Lesson in Vintage Waltz -- no partner or experience needed
9:00 - 12:00 = DJ dance -- practice and play with us
suggested donation: $8 for the evening, $6 for students with ID
We have been giving classes in Victorian Waltz and other dances at the Experimental College, the center for extra-curricular fun things on the UC Davis campus. Now we're finally having a dance party so that the people who have learned all this stuff can put it to good use! This will also help to fund a student waltz club, to perpetuate the swirl.
You don't have to be a UC Davis student to attend. You don't even need to have taken class before, as there will be a lesson that night. So bring a friend, or hey, bring your whole study group, because wow, it's something social to do in Davis besides getting drunk! We have lots of fun music and people, hope to see you there.
We will be dancing in the Firehouse, near the edge of campus
From Highway 80, take the UC Davis exit, turn left at the light to go around the Mondavi Center, then right onto Old Davis Road. When you come to A street, you can turn right into a campus parking lot (they usually cost $6), or turn left to go north on A st. The Firehouse will be on your left, and another campus lot on your right. To park for free you will need to keep going into the downtown area, most meters stop at 6pm.
